Chocolate cake 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened at room temp. 2 cups sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt 2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted. 1 cup sour cream, mixed with 2 tsp. baking soda. 2 cups flour 1 cup hot coffee Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, vanilla, salt. Mix well. Add chocolate. Mix well. Add sour cream mixture and continue mixing. Add flour and coffee alternately (3 additions flour, 2 coffee). Continue to beat until well blended; batter is very loose. Put in greased 9x13, or 2 square, or 2 round layer cake pans. Bake for 40 minutes at 350. Cool in pan. Frosting: 1/4 cup butter melted with 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate. Cool slightly. Add 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt 1/3 cup milk or cream 1 lb. powdered sugar Beat until smooth.
