Bean & Barley Soup Use about 2 lbs. of meat (soup bone, shank meat, or stew meat). Fill pot 3/4 with water. Add meat. Boil and skim. Add 3/4 cup pearl barley 1/4 cup split yellow peas 1/2 cup baby lima beans 1/2 onion 2-3 carrots, peeled and cut in half 1/2 tsp. of salt 1/2 tsp. of pepper Salt and pepper to taste Cook two hours uncovered.
